A detailed technical inspection of the yacht is provided for PREPURCHASE, MAINTENANCE AND DAMAGE condition surveys. The full condition survey comprises of the below three parts with the actual extend of the survey to be subject to the commissioning party intention and vessel itself:
Port / afloat Inspection and Survey
We perform a survey with the vessel moored to test electrical and hydraulic equipment and check all maritime, life saving, telecommunication and fire safety equipment in addition to the internal and external condition of the vessel.
Sea Trials
Following the static inspection of the vessel afloat, we perform an open sea trial. During the sea trial, the engine and overall vessel performance is evaluated, including testing of the steering, controls, shafting, engine mounts, navigation, propulsion and exhaust systems. Engines and drives Manufacturers authorized representatives are always recommended to attend on a sea trial.
On sail boats, the overall sailing systems including the rigs and hardware are surveyed for their condition.
Dry Dock Survey
After the vessel is lifted and placed in dry dock the survey continues and includes bottom, top sides and deck examination. The bottom is internally examined as well and hull equipment like Tail shafts or drives, propellers, flaps, thrusters and anchors with chains are surveyed for their condition.
Depending the construction material, age and condition of the vessel Non Destructive Testing may be effected, like Ultrasonic, Moisture Measurements, Radiographies and Dye check for Tail shafts and propellers and Magna Flux for shafts.
